Hello Lou,
I am glad to read you here and happy to have a new Audio Note french friend on the Asylum. You wrote a nice review, better than all that I did in the past myself.
I think that you said one important thing concerning Audio Note, it is not a demonstrative sound. The first time you hear an Audio Note system, you are not really impressed, you don't understand why it costs so much. You listen, you relaxe yourself, think to music and most of time, you realise when you are back home, how your own system sounds poor and artificial, how you just lost the feeling, the natural sense of music.
It happened again few weeks ago, friends came at home, listen, appreciated but without any spectacular feedback. Back home, some of them realised that their own systems sound poor by comparison.
I am like you, a "converted" to the "religion of Peter". More Audio Note you have, better you are. I read that somewhere, few years ago, without really understood all the message. It's significate several things.
First, each component is designed and manufactured as a part of a whole. Audio Note + Audio Note is always a success. It can appear stupid, but if you prefer listening music instead of searching the right amp or preamp or cable, it's a fantastic time saver.
Second, if you appreciate a component, you will appreciate the others because everything is coherent, because there an idea of aesthetic, of sound.
So, if you appreciate it, you are lucky because you know what you have to do to be happy.
I am like lou, I don't have the money to enter in a shop and buy a full system. I needed time and luck (most muck). With preowned market, I found some treasures and now have at home more than expected. I have to say "thank you" to some persons who accepted to sale it to me at a really fair price (a particular thought to Andreas and this amazing M8).
To listen music is now a rare pleasure which gave me so much that I never had any regret.
Enjoy Lou ;-).
Kind regards
Ugo
