better for whom, anyway?
old times were different... one can love some of these differences, have regrets or nostalgy. But that means one can still hear and recognize what is important or better and what is not, and why... even that is almost lost...
An exemple:
A lot of singers are making "Bel Canto" recordings nowadays. And, yes, some of these singers do certainly have beautiful voices! But "bel canto" doesn't mean "beautiful voice" but "beautiful singing"...
This confusion is very revealing of our time.
This gift of art, this dream is the quest which founded the deep humanity of many "old" recordings we do still love, with all their imperfections.
The spirit of humanity changed, humanity changed, and will never go back!
