It's all about the music, dude! Sit down, relax and listen to some tunes.

RE: The symphonies are tough

My intro to Brahms was the 4th symphony, which, as a teenager still getting into the classical repertoire way back when, I found very difficult to get into. Now, many years later, I think it's just glorious--certainly one of my favorite symphonies. I also love his piano concertos (who doesn't?) and the violin and double concertos, as well as the German Requiem, but still have problems with his lieder and solo piano works, aside from the Ballades, Handel Variations, and Rhapsodies. The few chamber works I've heard I've liked a lot--need to get into them more!
