RE: We'll be making an Ethernet DAC later next year.

This is probably largely a function of two things:

1) susceptibility of the components and cables, (aka shielding etc..)
2) ground-loops and their size and orientation to the EM fields

Since these probably vary a lot from one system to another, the effect will probably vary too. I dont doubt that its possible.
