Hard drives can be placed outside the case in a powered box with a 6ft sata to esata cable.
Case fans can be kept off the main power supply by a simple DC wallwort.
All of the secondary power supplies can be placed on seperate $25 ISOBAR TRPS01R to reduce line noise.
But I still think a buffered DAC should be able to handle somewhat irregular dataflow with perfection.
As an alternative, I'm hoping the Taiwanese TG Link I ordered does the job for $100. (The job or error proofing processor to DAC dataflow).
Also a PCI-e expressbus card extends PCIe outside the box for isolation of PCI-e audio cards.
I think were close to providing perfect data to the DA converter for tens of dollars, not $10,000 of dollars.
Separate from the PC issue, can someone explain to me how the Benchmark DAC doesn't fix all transport problems?
