Just for some clarification, I've gone through their website and the manual. Assuming I'm using a coax digital cable (or the I2S cable with upsampling turned off), the transport will send out a 16/44 signal. I can then use the upsampling function on the DAC to upsample that signal to 192. I assumed that if I did not choose to upsample the signal that it would remain 16/44. Am I missing something here?
Also, it appears from Todd's post that upsampling and oversampling are pretty much the same. Just a different method used to achieve the result. Nowhere in the North Star manual does it indicate the DAC oversamples (4x, 8x, etc.).
