using one of the available tube buffers like the Musical Fidelity X-10v3 or the Yaqin tube buffer? I have both in my home theater and both can transform my Oppo Digital DV-970HD and Sony CDP-CDX240 200 disc changer into warm, detailed, non-harshing sounding players. I really like the Yaqin over the MF due to the ease of power cord and tube changing. Just make sure to swap out the stock 6N1 tube of the Yaqin for a 6DJ8 tube. Makes the sound even richer and more detailed. The Yaqin can be had for less than half the price of the Musical Fidelity for under $200 at Pacific Valve and Electric Company. And these tube buffers can help with hi-rez playback unlike DACs that only handle Redbook only. I have mine between my preamp and power amp so all sources benefit, including FM.
