Fellow posters!Firstly, may I apologize for a tardy response, as the postings in the thread have multiplied: a minor indisposition leaving me ‘a little under the weather’.
May I, then, thank you all for your responses and suggestions. I have found the exchange between Eric and Duster particularly valuable: clarification as posts were placed has proved helpful.
Because of what I had found with the use of the Oyaide rhodium connectors, before my initial post, and other experiences with connectors and cables, I am inclined to pursue the use of other Oyaide connectors, and, in the light of Duster’s comments apropos ‘warmth’ of the FI-E11(Cu) compared with the P-079 and the ‘contribution’ of the Otto Heil IEC, will proceed by substituting the Otto Heil with an Oyaide C-079 to ascertain the effect of substitution. As I noted in one of my earlier responses, the combination of LAT AC-2II, Furutech FI-E11(Cu) and silver-plated Otto Heil IEC is not intolerable — far from it — but the potential is there, I believe, to refine the sound resulting. If I should find myself, after substituting the Otto Heil IEC, saying, “I can live with thisâ€, then I might well end substitution there and then. After all, while there is an interest in exploring, there is the music. Yet, I am mindful of how Duster characterized the FI-E11(Cu) and the P-079. The nature of this activity, it seems, is ever reaching for that little bit extra to enhance the listening experience, the sheer delight of reproducing recorded music.
Finally, to Eric I would express satisfaction in his sentiment: thoughfulness, due consideration and respect, is something I value and strive for, not always achieving; it has been present in the exchange, I believe. I don’t wish to come across as sentimental, but it is a delight when exchange illuminates, as this exchange, on a small matter really, has illuminated for me. Now, comes the matter of translating the word into experience.
Once again, thank you, all!
