Hi,
I am in the market for a monitor speaker. I was leaning toward the Sonus Faber Cremona Auditor due to its detail and wide sound stage. It also images very well plus its build quality is very attractive. However, I have heard that the Usher Be-718 is every bit as good as the SF including its looks for about half the price of the SF. I know its 7" woofer is larger than the 5-1/2" woofer of the SF so it might make for a better bass output. I also hear the Mark & Daniel Maximus is a very good speaker and just disappears in the listening room. I believe it also sells around the price of the Usher. Unfortunately, my dealer does not have either the Usher or Mark & Daniel speakers in stock. I was wondering if anyone had the opportunity to compare any of these speakers and what your impressions were. I am looking for a nice smooth sounding speaker with a wide sound stage and good imaging.
I currently have a Butler TDB 5150 hybrid amp rated at 150 watts per channel and an Anthem D1 statement pre amp.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks
