Well after dropping it, I had to replace the dust cover, the woodbase, and the tonearm. I found two part TD 165's on eBay and purchased them between the 3 turntables I was able to piece together one working one. My original cost for the TD 165 was $150, add to it the two part turntables one at $40 and the other at $75, plus the $380 for the cartridge you are at $645.Jeff

I have an old Thorens TP 11 (?) on my 165, and need to dismantle it and clean and lube everything. Do you use different feet (isospikes?, which have had yay and nay opinions here) and brace or dampen the table to get "90% of Shelter/VPI", which is quite a statement! And the Dynavector is expensive MM, or hi output MC?
No I just use the standard feet and no special brace, but do have it sitting on a sandbox to isolate it as much as possible. I may try some different feet, though not the isospikes maybe something like the vibrapods. The Dyanector is a high-outupt MC 4.5mv (I think), the Denon DL-110 is also a high-output MC. I tend to like MC cartridges better than MM though that may get me shot around here.Jeff
to great effect on my NAD533. I combined the feet + cones screwing the feet in I then glued the cones on. The cones have ball bearings at the cone tip. The only downside is that I can't adjust them.It was the beginning of cleaning up the bass. Everything seemed to snap in a bit.
Damn if that isn't an ugly picture but it works anyway.
