I just won this on Ebay. I did some research prior to purchasing and most people seemed to like it. It has to be better than the American pressing I have. Also, I thought I got a good price on the lp.

It certainly seems like a good deal and a worthwhile purchase, however as the owner of the second UK pressing of DSOM and a first UK pressing of The Wall, I don't think these UK pressings can be beat. They have to be two of the very best sounding rock lps I've ever heard. They are readily availible on Ebay for decent prices, you just have to know what to look for to distiguish the different pressings. The original UK DSOM is very expensive due to the solid blue prism on the label. I have heard the MoFi DSOM and the new EMI pressings, and the second UK easily sounds better than both.

Based on the research I did, I knew that the 1st UK pressing was the best. Looking at what people charge for it, I knew that it was out of the question so I was looking for the best sounding version I could afford. My friend has a MOFI copy and it sounds pretty darn good. It's not the best copy (noisy), but it sounds much better than the copy I have. Again, for the price I think it's overrated. Just my opinion though.Another reason I looked at a Japanese pressing was the fact that I prefer my Beatles From Liverpool boxset to my UK BC-13 boxset.

I should be better than American pressing.I choose to get the 1st pressing on Odeon rather than 2nd pressing. But original British Harverst got better balance overall.
Looks like you got a fantastic deal!I have a Japanese pressing of "The Wall" that I enjoy very much.

Post your impressions after you get it. I have enjoyed most of the japanese pressings that I have had.Congrats, eBay can be very good for buyers this time of year. I don't even look, because I have a buyers mentality, but the checkbook of a homeless person.
