It is a very nice overall job. The tracks were laid over a period of years, but the final presentation is seamless. You can tell that pros were at work here. It is a masterpiece in every way.

yet I bought it and enjoy it quite a bit. I only know Emmylou by name and Mark by his association with Dire Straits (was never a fan). I actually picked it up for my mom who I think would have really liked it (she did :) and I wound up linking it too. I've no desire to check anything else by either of these two artists, but I do have one great new CD - which I understand sucks compared to the LP.

This album is my introduction to both artists so I have no preference for either nor can I compare it to anything they've done in the past (save for a couple Dire Straits tunes I'm aware of - Sultans of Swing and Money for Nothing)
