I have most of their albums. Their Out of the Woods which was reissued by Discovery with loving care and attention in the 90’s is one of my favorite albums. Their 70’s output is all interesting and worth a listen. I would say their music is more world jazz as they combine a variety of instruments and world themes to their body of work. You may want to also look at some of the Paul Winter Consort output as the Oregon people came from that group.
Towner has done some excellent work with others and solo. His album Solo Concert on ECM is an absolutely great album
Follow Ups:
That might be the understatement of the year! Incredible stuff!
If I had more money, I'd soon be broke...but I'd have more LP's!

Granted it’s hard to find enthusiastic enough adjectives to describe his playing on that album, especially on Nardis.
Because of this thread I’ve played Winter Consort's Icarus, Out of the Woods and Solo Concert today. The three go well together.

Towner's Solo Concert is absolutely gorgrous.I'd also recommend The first Codona LP to anyone who likes Oregon. Wolcott is on it.
Looking up and down the radio,
Uh-oh, nothing there this time. -- Eno
