Everything seems to have its day these days! :-)
-----------
As many of you are aware, I am currently restoring a Lenco for an Audiogon friend. Some have requested progress pictures. This one is nearing its completion and is a cocobolo beauty which can be seen in six pictures at the tail end of my system pictures (follow the link below and then click twice on each Lenco-labeled picture near the bottom of the list of system components). Please note that this beast will have an air-bearing arm - though the tonearm/cartridge combo is as yet unattached in these pics.

very 30s! Beautiful woodwork as usual. Sigh. I think i'll just drill a hole in my plinth to mounbt my RB300 again, i kinda miss the old DL103. Been listening to a Decca International/M97 for months, not bad though.
Now what's the name of that tangential arm? Or is it DIY as well?
"The torture never stops"
...sorry, I missed that you were asking a Q. Yes, it is an MG-1

That's very very nice work.

What model Lenco is that? Did you fill the on/off cut outs and painted it?Is air bearing arm suitable for a Lenco?
L75. Top plate was cut and one remaining hole was filled. Table and arm used in another plinth. Reputed to work very well. Hoped to sound even better with a 70 pound plinth.

Sorry, I was unaware that some folks would not be able to access the pictures at the “other“ site. Here is a different link for anyone with interest.

Beautiful work, and I like the design very much. Is the top a solid board, or is it veneer over something else?Bravo!
Thanks, I only hope that the owner enjoys the table to see and to hear! The top is cocobolo veneer (not to be used by the faint of heart) over 3/4 Baltic Birch Ply (marine grade 14, plys per). The edges and corners are 1/4" and 3/4" solid veneer - with a very modest amount of discretely placed ebony inlay strips.

Thanks for the detailed info. I didn't think one would be able to get away with a solid piece on top, given the way the skirts are configured (thinking movement of the wood with changing humidity). It looks wonderful, and your friend/client should be profoundly happy with it!

Later Gator,
Crank up your talking machine, grab a jar of your favorite "kick-back", sit down, relax, and let the good times roll. The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Superb job with the Lenco. Makes me want to send my Goldring G99/Lenco over for a custom make over. Very envious at your superb craftmanship.
