what can I use for my Sonata? I heard that fluids can loosen the stylus on Grados(?) I clean it occasionally with a dry brush and some of those times with a bit of Last stylus cleaner on it, but I never goop it on. I probably should clean it more than I do.

Follow Ups:
The ultimate effectiveness or some Stylus cleaning methods becomes a moot point when the process requires enough of a hassle to prelude frequent or regular enough use.So when using the liquids and brushes or just simply dry brushing the stylus require squatting and squinting as well as steady hands
that process becomes eminently postponable. One of the most beneficial aspects of the Magic Eraser and or the Zen Dust pad, is that it is so simple and easy to momentarily drop the arm on to the little pad briefly(placed between the platter and arm along the cartridges arc) immediately before cuing up the side
you're about to spin. The process is so simple and easy that you'll soon just be doing it
as a reflex, it becomes instinctive, resulting in the fine dust and crud is removed before the stylus lights on the record every time
resulting in essentially perfect stylus maintenance resulting in enhanced / extended Stylus and groove life as some of that fine dust is abrasive, abrasives applied to moving surfaces constitutes the lapping process. There isn't the least doubt in my mind that the Green superfine3M (Linn Recommended)sandpaper or any of the better liquids Stylus cleaners used expertly, and with the correct brushes are ultimately more effective on removing hard baked on stylus deposits, than either the ME or Zen Dust, but by using the ME of ZD on an already clean stylus obviates that crud build up in the first place, so now I only find myself using the liquid (more for cleaning up the cantilever and cartridge recesses) prior to an exam, or on friends cartridges or used ones I'm considering buying.
IMHO if you're spinning records on a daily basis you should be cleaning and maintaining the stylus on a daily basis.
I don't clean my stylus so often, just blow off any dust bunnies that might find there way to it or use a dry brush as you suggest. The Magic Eraser should work well there also. I'll have to bring a snip of it home. I clean my Lp's and that really helps keep the stylus clean. Once in a blue moon, I use a drop of some nasty old Signet Stylus Cleaning Fluid, but a drop of good gin would probably do as well...
