I tried posting a follow-up to a previous message, but it may not have posted properly. Please excuse any duplicate entries if it did get posted.Thinking of ordering Cream Reunion from Tower.com to save a few bucks. How is their packaging? Does the shipping carton adequately protect the box set with bubble pack, etc.? How long did it take to receive and was that with free shipping?

Were these LP's made from digital tapes? I have the CD's which are decent but not extraordinary....
I believe I read that the original tapes are for this recording are 24/96 (but I'm not 100% certain of this). Nor do I know whether or not the vinyl was cut from the digital master or an analog copy.I paraphrasing here, but somweone posted here a few days ago that they spoke with Stan Ricker (who cut the vinyl) and he stated that he had full control over how it was mastered for vinyl, i.e no additional compression or goosed eq, etc. FWIW, IMHO, although it is not the greatest recording in the world, it does not sound unnecessarily futzed with.
I've ordered several LPs from Tower.com -- including the new Cream set. The Cream set was send in a ~12x12x6 box filled with newsprint to keep the box set from moving around. Not as heavy duty and solid as what, say, Acoustic Sounds uses, but no problems whatsoever. It arrived unscathed. Other single LPs have been sent using similar packing and have arrived in fine shape.Unfortunately LP#1 of this set have some scratches on it (no fault of Tower.com). However I spoke with them last week and they agreed to exchange just that disk (since the other 2 are perfect).
