Removing the platter from a Garrard SP25 Mk IV?

Is it just a matter of pulling the platter off with sufficient force? It doesn't want to budge!

Hi Andrew,
If I remember correctly the SP25 has a clip around the centre spindle which prevents the platter from being removed. Tweak this off with a pair of long nose pliers or something and you should be able to lift the platter off the spindle. I think you'll need to remove the mat from the platter beforehand though, or at least the metal plate from the centre of it, in order to access the clip.

Have a second person lightly tap the center spindle at the same time that you are equally pulling on the table at the thre o'clock and nine o'clock position, It will pop right off.......most times!!
