In Reply to: odd, i had Dyno rebuild my xx-2 posted by cunningham on October 10, 2003 at 22:59:13:
but my understanding was that Dyna would *replace* damaged XX-1's, assuming you were an original purchaser from one of their dealers, and that this was done at low cost for legit customers. (That was exactly the deal Mike Pranka applied to my 20X.) I didn't buy my XX new from an authorized dealer, so I would not have availed myself of that benefit in any case. My starting premise was to obtain a fine cartridge, rebuilt on the cheap, as I stated. That understanding is a bit over 2 years old. It also was based on an inquiry regarding the original full-body, black XX-1 model which had recently ceased production near the time of the introduction of the XX-2.

the cost was $700+
Seems a fair value, for a relatively new XX-2 like yours. I couldn't have afforded it- my target cost was around half that, total, including the purchase of the cart! Thanks for sharing that information. I am really enjoying the cart I ended up with; it was a worthwhile experiment from my standpoint.
I suspect you have a fine cartridge as well. The major quality of the Dynavectors is the magnet work.
