I have recently had the displeasure of dealing with James Wilson aka - VTA Magazine and Pro-Caps. He swindled me out of $10,670!!! He took my money and is no where to be found.
Apparently, other individuals were ripped off by Wilson too.
This is a warning to all members of this news group to be aware of this slippery character.
I am working with local and international authorities to aprehend James Wilson. If you have any information on his current location, have made recent contact with him or were in fact ripped off by him please contact me or post your information on this forum.
I am offering a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of James Wilson.

Really sorry to hear this Mr. Kittleson. I was also ripped off; though only for $500US. I had placed a warning about this thief months ago but the fall-out just keeps surfacing.

  Jim Wilson was the original supplier of Pro-Caps in 1998. He was having these custom manufactured by Kerr and Johnson in the UK. He originally sold them through the mail and from ads in Glass Audio. I got involved by signing a distributor agreement with Wilson in 1998 to be a distributor in the USA.
  Everything went fine for two years until he flaked out.

    Just forgot to ask. I heard the people mentioned about your VTV tube line preamplifier. What is it about? Does it a finished product or kit? Would you please give me some information about this preamplifier? Thanks!

    You can visit the following website, which is an Italian parts house. They are carrying the ProCap. I think they might know where jim Wilson is.

  Wilson was my supplier of VTV Ultra-Tone caps. These wer re-named and the design was changed with better leads and a line of speaker caps were also made for the USA market.
  I still have stock of the following values:

  I also have

  2.0uf "
  Plus all the power supply caps offered.
  He fell through on a large order that was supposed to be sent in March 2001.
  I sold these caps very sucessfully for two years until this happened.
  Now all I can do is sell the remaining inventory at reduced prices to clear it out.

Where is he from, may I ask? Someone did this to me several years ago (Mike Strother), and I'm wondering if it may be the same person, working under an alias.

  Jim Wilson is from the UK and has a British accent. He was in Greely Colorado a few years ago then moved back to the UK in 1999. Then he went to Australia, then to Malaysia and back to the UK in early 2001.
  He may have an alias, after all the name James Wilson is fairly generic.
  This the same James Wilson who started VTA Magazine and only came out with two issues and folded it. He was also selling the Pro-Caps for a while, then he asked me to be the USA distributor. Everything went well for about two years, then he totally flaked out on me and took off with $10K+.
  He has also ripped off some well-known tube dealers in the UK and USA. I cannot divulge who these are at this time, however.

    I'll divulge on my own - Jim Wilson sent a check as prepayment, validity was verified with the bank and material then sent via FEDEX OVERNIGHT at his request. The check was then STOPPED after receipt of material and he left Greeley for South Africa with a few thousand worth of my tubes. Police verified that his office had been abandoned without a forwarding address. A later email to him in SE Asia produced only a denial that he was the same Jim Wilson - seems he might have "lied a tad"

      Thanks for your story. I am gathering as much information I can about James Wilson and turning it over to the local Police Detective.
      He has a contact with the FBI and Interpol.
      Perhaps with enough information, we can nab this crook!
