It is a Kinkless Tetrode, top cap, looks a bit like EL34 with a topcap. It's a transmitting KT... not a TT series or Kt8C, tho. Ya know what I mean? Standard versions of this tube with no top cap sell for big $... electrically similar to EL38 and EL34. Thin brown base. Factory code Z (Hammersmith plant) Specs identical to the legendary Kinkless it's based on. Like to keep it on the Q.T. for a bit. Transmiting version of thin KT.

NONE of the above. Tube museum has wrong or bad picture and/or info. I will seek them out from sites. It's drop in for EL38; higher ratings. Thanks tho. True KT, truly awesome. Ain't no linescan. Uprated EL38. Got one IN MY HAND. Got info stored on the hard drive. Just can't get them cheap; hoped you could help. I know EXACTLY what it is, and you mentioned NONE of what it is. That's the problem; too rare to locate.

Hi ,
How can you be sure it's a kinkless tetrode ? I can't determine from the picture if there are beam plates or not . More than likely the E3375 is electrically similar to a line scan pentode such as a EL504 , 6CD6 or EL360 rather than an EL34 or EL38 . BTW the EL34 and EL38 are electrically different , pin out differently and have vastly differing transconductance , also the EL38 requires far less bias for a given anode current compared to the EL34 . Not alike at all unless you only consider the octal base ;) In use the EL38 anode begin to cherry up around the 20 watt mark , a much better use for these would be a sub (after a rewire) within a class B biased EL34 guitar amp rather than for A or AB1 biased hifi .cheers
In my own defense, nobody is "ganking" tube collectors here. These normally sell at $300-$350 per pair at retail. The tube asylum member, who has bought from me before, failed to mention that he found the listing on eBay at $199 per pair (close to dealer price)hmmm,,,I wonder why that was omitted? There are quite a few tube dealers which buy from us and they are gladly paying $150 per pair, 10 pairs at a time for these. Your opinion about the sound of the A2900 is merely that, your opinion. How they sound depends quite a bit on your circuit, and what you prefer,,,the A2900 has consistently won 12AT7 shootouts ie HKaudio shootout. The statement that the tubes are not manufactured by MOV/GEC etc is PURE nonsense. Someone who obviously does not know what they are talking about makes an assumption, and then the next thing you know, geniune GEC A2900 are now made by Brimar?? This is plain and simple ignorance. Thankfully, one of the tube ayslum members responded and corrected your false assumption as well. Unfortuantely, this response seemed to have been overlooked as well. Z= GEC Hammersmith factory which all of the tubes have clearly marked on them in the traditional military designation. We have these listed on our website at $349.99 per pair which approx retail, but the pricing on the eBay listing and our audiogon listing for a limited number of pairs was significantly lower.
