Paul Westerberg Injures Left Hand

Paul Westerberg has seriously hurt his hand and he may not be able to play for a while. Westerberg's Web site has posted an excerpt of a blog by Jim Walsh, a friend of Westerberg's. He says Westerberg was trying to get some wax out of a candle holder with a screwdriver and cut into his left hand. He says Westerberg cut some nerves and ripped some cartilage and he's wearing a cast. Walsh says Westerberg has seen a couple of doctors who say he won't be able to play guitar for a year. His injury happened about a week or two ago, according to Walsh. A request for comment from Westerberg's label, Vagrant, was not answered.
