SF- Just trying to get 2X15" bass and 1X15" mid from only two identical drivers, thereby avoiding the need for extra sub boxes & amps in smaller venues. Economical, yes?
Follow Ups:
Sound systems CAN sound a little dry/flat (you know what I mean) without appropriate bottom end extension... no matter what size room they're in. Even if you don't need to reproduce a 30-35hz fundamental at full amplitude, we both know that overtones go up AND down the scale. A trade-off, as always. Power vs. extension at both ends.C'mon... don't you want to lug 16 MacroTechs to the next "small" club gig!!! :-b
SF- Bill F. staightened me out about the LF cutoff with the DR15 (too high for me), so that configuration is scrapped! But a good, solid 40Hz with an EQ rolloff thereafter is respectable for most small gigs, don't you think? Then you can leave 14 MacroTechs at home for your "stereo" system. Just think of your vital contribution to the 4am post-gig block party!
That's the funniest thing I've heard (or read) all day!!!
