I have used all types of wire to rewire vintage receivers, tuners, amps
and OTL's. I have used Vampire CCCS,Acrotec,Audioquest CCCS, Kimber PBJ,Kimber silver, magnet wire, wonder wire. The best of the lot to my ears has been the Atmasphere hook up wire. It is also easy to work with, ie---easy to strip and use because it is solid copper core.
Follow Ups:
The Atmasphere wire is nice to strip and attach to terminal tags and being a single core you can get a good mechanical crimp when hooking up but the insulation is susceptible to heat. You need to be quick in and out with your soldering iron. Also try to avoid having a bend just before the solder joint or the insulation will peal off sideways when you solder the joint. My advice is to practice on a few trial connections first.Roy
Also, what I do is put a little piece of teflon tubing on the ends of the wire where the wire insulation ends--that way the heat won't melt the insulation.
Neat idea, that solves all the problems and stops any shrinkback.
If I use the wire again I will treat myself to a temperature controlled iron. Using low melting point solder would also help and anyway the solder has 2% silver in it so not a bad thing.
