I won't make fun. I like Jimmy. He was big here in Miami in the 70's and 80's, and certainly a large part of the local flavor.Jimmy's the best for drinking, period.
Delta Blues, like John Lee Hooker, is another good choice.
Follow Ups:
Saw Jimmy's name scrolling through and that popped into my head.
Nature hates a vacuum, you know.
When you said local flavor you reminded of this album, yea, vinyl ;-)....recorded in 1978 at the Fox theatre in Atlanta, about 4 and a half blocks from where I'm sitting (GA tech dorms)...better still, on one of the LP jackets is an aerial photograph, showing the good old Varsity drive-in, not to mention most of Georgia Tech's East campus, including not only the dorm I'm living in, but also the very window I'm sitting next to. Hence and therefore, this album is a good conversation piece and made extra enjoyable.

I listen to...Diana Krall. (Ha! You thought I was going to make some belligerent anti-cd comment, dincha? But NO! I've learned my lesson. Actually, an anti-Krall comment around here just may get me in deeper trouble...)

of which you have proven to be one.
Your comment reminds me of the scene in Blazing Saddles where Clevon Little (the black sherrif) is standing in line at KKK ralley and removes his hood and says "Where are the white women at?"
Where ARE the white women at?

Bags, Look on that Diana Krall cd cover and you will see one

wasn't David Allen Coe at that KKK rally?

Probably so considering some of the music he did after the one mentioned above. I never listened to any of it but according to some of the song titles I would guess it is pretty raunchy stuff
