Hi guysI'm looking for some new music. I don't know what to call it but does anybody know Low - Thnigs We Lost in the Fire and "Sigur Ros"? It's does not have to be that strange/different but it does not scary me. If anybody know similar material I would be happy.

Yume Bitsu is a northwestern American group that has that dreamy Sigur Ros style. Their self titled CD is a good place to start, nice washes of fuzzy guitar.Godspeed You Black Emperor is mentioned frequently with Sigur Ros, but I don't think they're all that similar. I picked up Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven and thought it was boring and tedious.

Try Nils Petter Molvaer.Another idea is to go to http://www.allmusic.com and search similar genres of music, related artists, influences etc. I highly recommend this approach, but be carefull, if your anything like me "list of music to buy" will grow to dangerous proportions.
P.S. If your into giving Nils Petter Molvaer a listen go for the album "Khmer".
Ok, thanks for the replies.
those two albums (sigur ros & low) are some of my favorites from the past year...other albums by low don't seem as inspired & i haven't heard sigur ros' earlier stuff...have you tried 'yo la tengo'? their 'and then nothing turned itself inside-out' is in a similar vein...and i'd also recommend mazzy star's 'in my swan' or the recent solo album by their vocalist hope sandoval called 'bavarian fruit bread'...

> other albums by low don't seem as inspired & i haven't heard sigur ros' earlier stuff...I talked to a guy once and he said Sigur Ros earlier stuff has nowhere near the same sound like AGAETIS BYRJUN.
