Too bad he passed away at such a young age....

Oh man...I didn't know this guy had died. What happened?
My wife and I heard his "Over the Rainbow" as the tail-out music for some movie this last year, and my wife promptly went nuts for the performance.
We've seen a CD by Kamakawiwoole with this cut on it, but don't know anything about the rest of the selections. Is this the only CD he put out? What are the other songs like?

Iz has a lot of CDs. Just search on Amazon. Facing Future is the best IMHO.Iz died of a massive heart attack. He weighed up to 700 pounds at one time.
He was truly a gentle giant of men. Beautiful voice and brilliant writer.
Kamakawiwo'ole, 38, died Thursday morning of respiratory failure at Queen's Hospital.
That's thursday June 26 1997

clark,
actually my daughter was turned on to this guy by her music director at the van nuys high school music magnet. one of the things he does is have 'listenings'. he puts on some music with all the class sitting in the dark. katie still looks at this as one of the best things he does to involve the students in the music for its own sake.
