Installing these subwoofers has simply transformed my whole presentation from bottom to top. It's always amazed me that improving one area of the frequency spectrum can have such a profound effect on the others. How can things sound more extended—on top?More detail and resolution are retrieved from top to bottom. The soundstage is fuller and venue cues are radically more apparent. Finally, as you'd presumably expect, the added sonority is just gorgeous. HIGHLY recommended.
I am using these in conjunction with Köchel K-300 loudspeakers rated to 60 Hz. I have the cross-over point set at about 75 Hz and the output level around 15%. I am running my preamp's output to the LFE inputs of the subs through a pair of Jensen ISO-MAX JT-SUB-1XXR isolation transformers which utilize Jensen model # JT-112P-2HPC raw transformers.

to be desired info-wise....Perhaps you could fill in a few gaps such as:*cabinet size and construction

*did you purchase two, or do they come in two's, or were you referring to the two 10" drivers, or....
*how you have them/it placed in your room relative to speakers etc...
and any other details that come to mind.

Zu's 60-Day Satisfaction Guarantee TermI purchased a stereo pair and have them located on the front plane and outside of my main speakers. I assume the two 10" drivers fire forward since every other plane on the cabinets is solid. There is some type of baffle in front of the drivers. Zu uses something called Griewe loading on their designs.
Integration with my main speakers was nearly effortless. I will have to play with the settings one day and see if there is any additional magic to be coaxed out of these things.
seriously, I don't know why I procrastinated so long in getting a subwoofer. I was told they are hard to mate with horn speakers, but I found that not to be the case.I was not in the same price range as the zu's, and their info is a bit sparse, I assume they are sealed, and not ported? Two 10" would definitely go faster than a single larger drive.
I went with a 15" sealed servo controlled sub and it works well to about 23 or 24 Hz, then goes down about 3db at 20 Hz.
Found a LOT of music that has unintentional low freq. content... like they didn't hear it themselves when mastering same. Heh.
The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts.

...that I had difficulty finding ultimate satisfaction with. The REL was mated with a pair of Linn Kan II's. Many titles sounded great and many exhibited just too much bass. This experience had me a bit nervous to try all over again, but I'm not having any trouble this time around. I'm not sure if going with a stereo pair has helped matters, but things are really sounding great with Zu and Köchel pairing.
Thanks for the post!I've been pretty well convinced that a subwoofer would benefit my system (as per your description) for a while. I've been procrastinating on such though...
How'd you decide that the Zu was the way to go, given so many alternatives?

Seriously though, it was a combination of a bunch of things that led me to the Zu. My amp mfg uses Zu Druids in his shop, the fact that the Mini's were described as 'fast', their size, Zu's return policy, etc., etc.
