Yesterday, March 25th, the first annual Vintage Voltage Expo was held in Denver. It was a big hit. Here's a couple pictures of the 'big room', in case anyone's interested. Click on link for second picture.
Nearly 700 people attended. A lot of great gear for sale, everything from antique radios to high-end used equipment. This was not a fancy RMAF-type audio show, but a
grass-roots, "something-for-everyone" show.Could shows like this spring up in other cities where there are none?

It was at the Ramada Plaza, up I-25 at 120th.There was some ham and SW there, but not a lot. We made a point of inviting all the ham people through the clubs. Only a few of the vendors had ham radios, though. There was Collins, Zenith transoceanic, Hallicrafters, some others I don't remember. As you know, they are their own world, and have their own ham-fests.
But there is crossover interest into other vintage electronics.Write me off-list if you like, or visit the website.

I certainly enjoyed the show. As did my wife, who loved watching so many big heavy electronic and metal boxes disaapear off my table. If I was looking for more gear, I could have assembled at least ten fairly nice systems from the stuff on sale. the only catagories with slim pickins were turntables and speakers.

Steven, you had one of the best tables at the show. I could have bought a lot from your stock, but I kept scurrying back to my booth. I asked Dana and her assistant to watch it for a while, but I couldn't leave it for long. Next time I will share a big booth, or have an assistant.
The tubes I got went right into my older Conrad Johnson preamp.
I found some good deals - and new projects. And met some great folks.
