Is ther some way to bypass or buy something to stop block when I try convert my VHS to DVD and DVD to VHS? Iam not trying to bootleg or steal anything, it is for preservation and options at home.

      I'm just a bit relieved you haven't tried it. Thanks for your quick response. I was tempted to refuse delivery. It's interesting to know the two tape formats have a distinct output signature.

        It's just that Beta is no longer in the running, so the codes on DVD etc. were not designed to reach it.
