Cheaper is better since I live paycheck to paycheck... I 'could' be convinced to spend more if it's truely worth it though now I'm looking for cheap and small and only have 2.1 speakers. What are my options?Thought there would be a simple recommendation based on my needs that you experts would know off hand.

what is your budget? You can email me, ya know.
No offense taken! Thanks for any input, I'm interested in learning all options. If there's something I outta be considering regarding this purchase that's more than $100 I'd be curious as to why it costs more.

...The best bang for my buck to date has been a mix of new old stock and vintage (tried and true):
Koss portapro headphones, a '90's Sony walkman CDP with line out jack and wall wart power, Sonic-T amp, good vintage thrift speakers -- Walnut veneer and heavy driver magnets are signs of good quality.I've seen Leak, Pioneer, Bozak, Coral, etc. in the last decade of grazing thrifts. Realistic minimus 7's are nice small vintage speaker. Optimus LX-5's have the fabulous linaeum tweeter. There are others.
The Koss Porta pro's were a big suprise right out of the Walkman CDP -- excellent fidelity.
There are a number of computer speakers that might float your boat. You obviously have a computer. Just go to any local store. You should be able to find something at around $70.00 or even less.
