In Reply to: Audio Note AN-L vs. Lexus XL speaker cables? posted by R Browne on August 6, 2006 at 09:36:12:
No one as replied and I have never used or heard the AN-L cables. I do use the Lexus XL speaker cables. They are very detailed and also warm, not hot. I love them both in SS and tube applications. I bought them purely on what i heard in an AN shop and then in my own system. Nothing I heard in this price ange could even come close to satisfying my tastes.

...for your reply. I was wondering, as a comparison, how much of an upgrade the Lexus XL cables are over my older AN-L cables. They seem to be well regarded by people who own them. I'll soon find out for myself.

Hi- I just saw your question- I have audio note gear- OTO SE amp, TT3, CDT2/Dac1.1 Sig Mk2, AN/E Kit speakers. I bought some La cable-basically an improved L- to upgrade my Linn cable. Though the La was clearly an improvement over Linn, the Lexus I had demoed was substantially better. I was able to return the La for Lexus. While the Lexus does take a while to burn in and is not inexpensive, it is a huge improvement over La or L. It renders a large soundstage and has warm highs and solid lows. It also unravels passages better and is more true to the recording. The lexus is not just a warm sounding cable, it will reveal differences among sonic signatures without being irritating or hard sounding.
You'll love it.

As I said, I can't compare the two, but I would agree 100% with this assessment. It is a very detailed, neutral cable, with just the right touch of warmth. For the price, I have never heard a better cable for my own listening enjoyment!

Sounds like just the thing I'm looking for. Thanks for your comments.
