Í read in a audio magazine a comparison of different cable brands.
The test was done changing both RCA- and loudspeaker cables.
It was assumed that using all cables from one manufacturer gives an extra benefit.
I think in technical terms, this is BS, because only the quality, technical parameters etc. count.
Maybe using one metall, for example using an all silver cabling is better than mixing materials - or does anyone loves mixed metall cables (AG/CU)?

Follow Ups:
I usually consider interconnects and speaker cables separately, although I have tried both from a single manufacturer many times. It seems fairly common that a cable maker will have a great IC and just a very good speaker cable, or vice versa. For example, I found Audience AU24 speaker cable to be truly exceptional, but was less impressed with their IC. Cardas, too. OTOH, the Slinkylink cables perform at the same level.
IME, there is very little value in using one type/brand of IC from phono-to-preamp, for example, and a different brand/type IC from CD-to-preamp. If budget is an issue, you can save on less critical links such as tuner-to-preamp. I currently use PS Audio Transcendent silver ICs and the copper AU24 speaker cables.Happy listening.
Each cable interface should be treated as a separate solution, and the best cable one could afford should be used, regardless of brand, IMHO. OTOH, if you're happy with a particular cable company's products, it makes sense to put them on your short list to try.

agcu ie silverplaited copper has the worst traites of each..if you can afford it go pure silver......
And i agree it makes no sense use the best you can afford in each application.
