In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, it is normal to find type 4 better than type 8. Type 4 is bad, and type 8 is twice as bad.

You've got balls, man.
at least tell the post why you think they are bad, and in what context (this means what was the rest of your system) , otherwise your post is meaningless.

Sure, well, Audioquest themselves say they are bad because of the dielectric. They launched a new series of cables called dbs as an attempt to reduce the dielectric problem. Also, unless you run 100feet of cables, type 4 is plenty of copper. Doubling the copper with 8 becomes unecessary if your run is less than 15feet, especially considering the fact that it would add more dielectric-related problems.
The only good thing about these type 4 or 8 is their construction consisting of a few monostrand wires with a gauge of 18awg or smaller each... but as audioquest points out, if we could get rid of the negative effect of the plastic, that would be nice. So magnet wires probably are Audioquest's favorite of all of their lines. Magnet wires made a true difference in my modest system (generic amp + mmgs), not type 4.
