That receptacle is actually a 15/20 amp and must be wired with 12 guage wire minimum to meet code. However, it will work with 14 guage wire. I would seek out a 15 amp receptacle because internally, the 20 amp receptacle appears to be of lesser quality for grabbing 15 amp blades. If you smash one open you can plainly see that it is identical except for a gap to allow a 20 amp plug to be inserted.

Follow Ups:
The Hubbell 8200H and 8300H use exactly the same (20 amp) contacts. The only difference is the T-Slot on front of the 8300H. With Hubbell 5262 and 5362, your assertion is correct, the 5262 contacts would not allow insertion of a 20 amp male plug even if the T-slot was on the front of the receptacle.

Interesting.. I was going by the 5262 that I smashed open. Does the 8300 have any advantage other than IG over the 5262? We can acheive IG without an IG receptacle if need be and not have the additional slot.

I assume by IG you mean isolated ground. I'm not too knowledgeable about isolated ground receptacles, but I am quite sure both the Hubbell 8300 and 8300H are not isolated ground, which are typically identified with a triangle symbol on the front of the receptacle. Also, the contact situation which I described above is unique to the Hubbell 8300H and 8200H. The standard Hubbell 8300/8200's (no H designation) which have nickel plated contacts are similar to the 5262/5263 in that the 8200's do have different contacts which are only capable of accepting a 15 amp male. The 8200H and 8300H (slim line hospital grade, non plated contacts) appear to be somewhat unique within the Hubbell receptacle lineup this way.

You are correct.Where I come from, the hospitals would only order IG when they ordered hospital grade, otherwise they use regular spec grade. This is because the insertion/pullout force for the hospital grade was just too high for everyday use. You are right though, they are orange and have a triangle on them. These 8300's are Ivory.
I got them mixed up. It has bee a long while since I sold wiring devices.
So there is no significant improvement for the 20A over the 15A? Going with the 15A will only yield one problem...can't get it in cryo treatment. Oh well. Guess regular 15A will still be a big improvemnt over the current 15 year old garbage receptacle.

Im not so sure now, Id have to smash them all open and take a look see for myself at this point.
