Having had some success with a couple of DIY Oyaide 046/Acrolink 4030 cords, I have been thinking of how I can offer more improvement to my system. I just discovered that the plugs (pretty mundane looking ones) on my Siltech power cord are only screwed on at both ends, giving me that opportunity to upgrade them with a couple of Oyaides. It's for my Rowland Synergy preamp and I'm thinking about the 079s.
Should I do it?I'm also thinking about changing the JPS Digital ACs at my CD player with another Oyaide/Acrolink cord. Do you see any gain from there?
Thanks.

Thanks, guys!BTW, Duster, the 046s aged quite well on my monoblocks and I no longer have the complaints that I had.
For the comtemplated Oyaide/Acrolink cord, I might get a factory one from Japan (with the black 079 plugs). I don't know whether that would be removable, but in any case, I might be too lazy to try.
That seems like a good plan to me. This would also enable you to swap-out the 046's placed on your mono block's power cords with 079's if you wish to experiment. Maybe the 046's would do better on the Siltech feeding your preamp and the new Acrolink feeding your CDP. It depends on what might benefit most via the warmer sounding 079's (your particular front end or your particular amplification). While digital gear most often benefits from warmer sounding connectors, this is not written in stone, and component/system dependant synergy is most important. It would be an interesting swap-out to try, at least.BTW, I wonder if your system would sound better with the new Oyaide/Acrolink placed on your preamplifier, and the Oyaide-upgraded Siltech placed on your CDP. I think it would, and will be interested in your findings if you try that configuration.

1) Yes.
2) Yes.And proper cryo treatment will definitely enhance the performance as well.
