Omega Mikro has long made two versions of their power cords. The red has the wire draw going from the wall to the component and the return going from the component to the wall. The blue is the opposite. The hypothesis as to why they sound so different depending on the component is that when the wire draw corresponds to that of the wire in the ac transformer you get the best sound. I agree that alternating current means that one side of the current is always going upstream relative to the wire draw, but nevertheless the wires sound sharply different. The wrong one will sound worse than a willy-nilly constructed wire, but the right one will be sharply better. This is all that matters to me.
