I had a cheapo Kenwood table ($110, must be the next model up!) and, given a good recording, it sounded better than my 2 cheapo CD players ($400 Denon & Harman Kardon). Yes, there was a small amount of surface noise always present a record, but the vinyl's lush realism made me immediately forget about that.
