I showed Mike Yee himself the influence of the crystals on his electronics and he was most intrigued. (Note: I was a dealer for him, so take everything I say with a little salt).
Of course he thought I was rather nuts about it but I gave him the crystals anyway and he did further experimentation back at his home, and eventually sent out some crystal "kits" to his core of Beta testers, who all reported hearing the same effects.
Using some very soft putty (I like the Duco plastic tack which is sold to hold posters on walls) I place crystals over the IEC inlet and over the binding pots. I also place a few crystals over the transformers. With the Duco plastic tack you can stick the crystals to the core rather than placing on top of the metal limitations and they work better there. You'll notice the input power transformer shows two distinct windings separated by a plastic spacer, place a small crystal on each winding on both sides (ditto for the other power transformers, that is a crystal on both sides).
On the preamp the same applies to the transformers but place a crystal entered on the volume control and selector switches, too. If you have an o ring, try sliding one of suitable diameter on the knobs and slide close to the faceplate so that it barely touching it. Those knobs balanced on those shafts tend to ring and that adds additional detail and clarity. If you have access to the old 3M tube dampener rings those work fantastically well.
