how would you describe this effect you notice with the Carver where it "...seems to store a lot of energy and release it at the wrong time" ?I am absolutely convinced that they are still just turned up too much. Think about it. Think about what is happening if a driver is playing louder than another. There would be no decay at all. Could that be what you are hearing?
I think the key here is to use music during the adjusment process that you know does not go below 50 or so. I guess that would be the strength of you test CD huh? Adjust the sub until you no longer perceive it is doing anything. Walk away and enjoy the music.
