The littlest Carver (the $895 one with 8" drivers)only goes down to 28; the original is, I think, 3 dB down at 20; the "signature" is flat to 20; 3dB down at 18. (Don't hold me absolutely to those numbers; just my recollection of the specs.) My objection to the Carver's isn't that they don't go low enough; it's that they don't do well when asked to reproduce in the 50 - 60 Hz range and seem to store a lot of energy and release it at the wrong time. All the installations I've heard of the Carvers with standmounted monitor speakers have had this problem. I think they might work well assisting a floor-standing speaker that already responds strongly down into the mid-30 Hz range, about a half octave below what any standmount that I know of can do.
I was curious about yours, just for my own information. My sub is rated at 3 dB down at 26 Hz and that's precisely what it measures in my room. I'd like to have those last 6 - 8 Hz, but they're expensive.Glad you're happy with the way your system sounds.
