that's why we don't see smog as much. Can't say the air is significantly clean, but it was far worst and visibly it really sucked to see that orange horizon almost every single day (only the windy days were free of that orange haze and now we must worry about wildfires on those windy days in LA).I very occasionally visit the place, but I use to spend on lot of time there during the hey day of the smog which was when I first came to California. Now, I occasionally fly into LA airport. That orange smog is gone for the most part afaik and when I did go to areas that use to have a lot of smog, it's not that bad as I recall as I use to really suffer with it.
It was a huge win to clean up the LA basin air quality. Now, it still suffers from many invisible pollutants, but one fight at a time as they say.
My travels to Central America tell me, Do we REALLY want less regulations?? You got to be crazy. Oops, a given already :-)
