No one seems to know the exact source of O.K. Some say it's from an Indian phrase "oh keh". Other maintain it's from Old Kinderhook (Van Buren), as well as your Old Knickerbocker. Plus, I've frequently seen it spelled okay. So, foreigners (aren't we all?), Yanks don't know what's right. (That's news?) We just know it's okay, or OK, or O.K., or o.k., or . . . .
