absolute polarity. I would suspect, though, that if you have spent more on your system than a Bose lifestyle system, then perhaps you just may be interested in obtaining maximum fidelity. If obtaining the maximum from your playback system is not quite so important, then polarity is of no consequence at all.
There are many reasons why absolute polarity remains unrecognized. One of the chief reasons is that no reviewer has accurately depicted the sonic differences when music is in reverse polarity. There is definitely a lack of perception, or, perhaps the better way to phrase it, would be a lack of experience and understanding of the issue. Transducer designs, recording anomalies all serve to confuse the more casual listener. Aural training, when I took music classes, was one of the more difficult classes I have ever taken, as it requires tremendous amounts of conscious practice, far more so than most listeners employ.
Of course, YMMV...
