I would be extremely cautious about relying on anything you read on the internet. The 6L6GC has a plate dissipation rating of 30W; the 6BG6GA and 6BG6G have a plate dissipation rating of 20W.

I don't have a McIntosh M240 schematic, so you will have to research the plate dissipation for your McIntosh.

There was a very limited production of 6GB6GA with 6L6GC internals. You might be able to find a quartet of them, but it has been decades since I saw any for sale.
