Thanks for the input. I really like the LK-48 and the 222, which I have only recently learned of. But where to find them? There is some luck involved. I suppose there are people on this list that have examples for sale.

I am tempted to try the ceramic discs again in my HF81 just for comparison but unfortuantely I cut the old ones off close to the disc - it would take some fancy solderin' to put them back in. Close to the disc, could I damage the cap with heat from the soldering gun? I haven't found new disc caps with the same value - .025uf.

I have my eyes open for tube amps that I can work on.
The HF81 has a poor-sounding phono section right now - I will try new tubes first.
