a rotor if you can aim the antenna toward the transmission towers you listen to. Here in Portland most of them are on Sylvan hill so I never need to rotate my antenna. You can also try a Delhi QFM 9. They're a bit less money, about 60 or 70 bucks, than APS models and should work fine from Kirkland to Seattle. The main thing is you want a roof top antenna if at all possible. This will give you the most quiet signal along with better quality overall.If you do need an antenna that will not work due to the towers being so far apart you can try an omnidirectional but they're pretty bad.
