Home Radio Road

Which tuner to get and getting the most from it. Thank God, for the radio!

RE: Scott 4310

Yes
I have a 4310 and I love it..While it does have a lot of tubes,I did recap mine and did an alignment to factory spec..It was very close..All I had to do was peak the IF coils and set the 19kc pilot and tweak the agc and it was spot on.I don't use it everyday because I don't listen to FM except on weekends...You will like the sound much better than the 10b.Its much more open and and its even more quiet than the 10b..I have a 10b here right now and I am putting in new optic couplers for the guy and aligning it..I put filter caps in it about 5 years ago but this happened after a rain storm he said..This is common on all 10b tuners I have seen tho.
