Hi.I can't say this is the quote of the century which also applied to audios. But is it's close.
It simply affirms the fact that up todate, instrumentation is far far
behind what our aural perception can tell. What needs to be done is to
make instrumentation more sophisticated & to get it more correlated to our aural perception. Otherwise all those measurement figures are
such a bunch of numbers.A very obvious example of what has been used since day one audio
instrumentation is using 1KHz as an audio spectrium centre testing frquency. Why? Middle C of music is 261.63Hz, Hi-C for tenors is 523.25Hz.So, IKHz is not even harmonically in line with Middle-C! So why IKHz is there since day one?????????
And IMO, nobody seems to have questioned this.Good listening
