The Heathkit AA-151 has a sound that many people really like. It's an ultralinear design with nice, beefy OPTs. It also has a passive RIAA, and the selector switch shorts unused inputs to ground to eliminate crosstalk between sources. Despite its relatively high output rating, the tubes run nearly in Class A.
