RE: Is this feasible? Rectifying 6.3v for heaters

Phil - I did some work on this this weekend for one of the preamp heater strings in my design and I realized I was wrong. For a heavy load, in this case 1.8A, 6.3v, the regulator won't work, not enough V+. So, it stays the same as one SB530 Schottkey (5A,30v) followed by a 10,000u, a 0.2 Ohm ended with another 10,000u cap. I don't know offhand what the ripple voltage is.
For my Aikido impedance buffer, it just uses two 6DJ8 for 700ma. of heater current. For that version, I did use one SB530 and an LT1085 reg. which works very well and has a line voltage regulation down to about 112Vsc in.
